Summer is behind us, school has been in session and many homebuyers are settled into their new homes.
For those who have their homes for sale in a slowing market, it doesnt mean you cant selll your home in the fall and winter months. In fact, people who are shopping this time of the year tend to be more serious buyers than alot of the tire kickers in the spring and summer.
Here are some tips for selling your home and you want it to stand out from the rest:
Make A First Good Impression
Your entryway or foyer sets the tone, so clean or paint the front door and polish the brass door knocker. If your welcome mat looks shabby replace it with a new one.
Wash The Windows
On sunny days, the strong southern light can reveal dirt you might not have noticed. Sparkling clean windows suggest a home that is well maintained.
Warm It Up
Give your home that cozy feel by keeping the room temperature warm and comfortable during showings. Build a fire or turn on your gas logs if you plan on returning home right after the showing. Add seasonal touches like warm throws.
Give Your Home A Nice Aroma
Burn candles or bake chocolate chip cookies. Dont overdo it. Some buyers winder if youre trying to cover up a smell.
Turn On The Music
Create a relaxed atmosphere by playing classical music or soft jazz keeping the volume low.
See The Light
Shorter days means less natural light, so make the most of indoor and outdoor living spaces with good lighting such as accent lamps.
